Best for
- Seal back-up rings
- Steam valve seats
- Analyzer fluid manifolds
- Bearing cages and thrust washers
- Stop-gap melt-pump gears
Not the right choice for
- Parts that carry more than a light load hot, in the unfilled grade
PEEK as a printed part
The carbon filled grade holds its shape far hotter than the unfilled one.
Key properties
| Tensile strength | 100 MPa |
|---|---|
| Heat deflection | 140 C at 0.45 MPa |
| Continuous service temp | 240 to 260 C |
| Flammability | UL94 V-0 at 1.5 mm |
What to use instead
- PPS when the part needs chemical resistance and a lower heat rating will do.
- PPA (high-temp nylon) when a filled high-temp nylon covers the requirement.
The FDM material selector narrows the whole range by operating temperature, load, chemical exposure, and budget.
