What to use instead
- ABS when the part lives indoors, out of the sun.
- Polycarbonate (PC) when the part has to hold its shape hotter than ASA can and stays out of the sun.
- Nylon (PA12) when the part is a wear surface and stays out of the sun.
The FDM material selector narrows the whole range by operating temperature, load, chemical exposure, and budget.
