PES (Polyethersulfone)

A higher-heat sulfone than PSU. It resists most automotive fluids.

Best for

  • Lamp housings
  • Fuse-box and bulb-plug bodies
  • Relay and switch bases
  • Sensor cases

Not the right choice for

  • Repeated steam under load

Key properties

Tensile strength84 to 86 MPa
Glass transitionabout 225 C
FlammabilityUL94 V-0 at 1.6 mm

What to use instead

  • PSU (Polysulfone) when the temperature and chemical requirement is milder.
  • PPSU (Polyphenylsulfone) when the part needs impact strength or daily autoclaving. We do not certify parts for this use.
  • PEEK when the requirement is genuinely beyond what any sulfone can hold.

The FDM material selector narrows the whole range by operating temperature, load, chemical exposure, and budget.
